Title: Deep State Reckoning: Comey and Brennan Under Investigation for Russia Hoax Involvement
By By Rafael Benavente| Political Analysis | July 2025
For years, Americans were told that Donald Trump was a Russian asset. It was the central narrative that haunted his presidency from day one. But now, nearly a decade later, the real story is shifting—and fast.
According to new reports, former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan are now facing criminal investigations over their role in orchestrating and promoting what many now consider a politically motivated hoax: the Russia collusion narrative.
🕵️ A Political Operation Disguised as Intelligence?
The transcript reveals growing scrutiny over the origins of the now-debunked Russia collusion story, with mounting evidence that U.S. intelligence services were weaponized against Trump by political operatives in power during the Obama administration.
Brennan, for his part, continues to plead ignorance.
“I am clueless about what it is exactly that they may be investigating me for.”
Yet the mounting evidence suggests otherwise.
📄 The Steele Dossier and Manufactured Intelligence
At the heart of the controversy is the Steele Dossier, a salacious and unverified document that was knowingly used as a basis for official assessments—despite protests from intelligence professionals.
Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and journalist Miranda Devine assert that Brennan pressured analysts to include the Steele dossier in the intelligence community’s official assessment, even after being warned that doing so would undermine the report’s credibility.
“It was a bogus document from the start,” Devine said, “and Brennan pushed it through, sidelining the National Intelligence Council and 13 of the 17 intelligence agencies.”
According to now-declassified communications, Brennan overruled internal objections and insisted on incorporating the dossier. That decision has had cascading consequences for American politics.
🚨 Lying Under Oath?
Perhaps the most damning revelation is the accusation that John Brennan may have perjured himself before Congress. He claimed that the dossier was never part of the intelligence assessment, even though documents show it was included in the main body—not merely as an annex.
Because Brennan repeated those claims within the last five years, legal experts believe he is still within the statute of limitations for prosecution.
“The CIA wouldn’t have referred this to the FBI unless there was clear evidence,” Devine argued.
🔐 Secret Testimonies and Declassified Contradictions
According to Meadows, there is a widening gap between what Comey and Brennan said under oath and what recently declassified emails and internal communications reveal. These discrepancies form the backbone of what could become perjury cases—if the Department of Justice follows through.
The public is still waiting for accountability after the Durham investigation, which many felt ended with a whimper. But a new referral from John Ratcliffe, former Director of National Intelligence, may finally ignite action.
🧱 Impact on the Trump Presidency
This wasn’t just about an election. It was about crippling Trump’s presidency before it even began.
From Crossfire Hurricane to the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, these investigations had a chilling effect on Trump’s first term. Meadows described it as a “leak operation” within the FBI and DOJ designed to keep the Russia narrative alive—despite mounting contradictions.
“President Trump was treated very differently than Hillary Clinton,” Meadows said. “And that double standard still hasn’t been reckoned with.”
⚖️ Will Justice Be Served?
Even with mounting evidence, there is skepticism.
“I’m doubtful,” said Meadows, when asked if Comey or Brennan will ever face real consequences. “Hopefully, we’ll at least create enough change that this never happens again.”
The American public deserves to know if their government’s most powerful agencies were turned against a duly elected president for political gain. If Comey and Brennan are held accountable, it could mark a turning point for the credibility of U.S. intelligence services.
But if nothing happens, the message will be clear: the rules don’t apply to the architects of power.
